just thought this might be good if you could get it down right.

claims to shoot almost 300 yards, could prolly get at least 150 out of a reel.
just thought it might be something to try out for those of you fishing down on pins. because they are run by air they are 100% legal and are not considered a weapon or firearm. i used to play paintball and would watch these things launch anything you stuffed in them for what seemed like forever.

I'm not sure about that... there may be some serious environmental concerns here.
Where is the air compressed from? if it is air that is compressed outside of PINS, then I assume one would need a permit and MSDS sheets on the air, since it could have originated from potentailly hazardous areas.
Furthermore, what do the birds think about the changes to atmospheric pressure surrounding the air cannon? I propose a full ESA to be performed to determine the affected zones surrounding the air cannon. We don't know for sure about the effects of instantaneous atmospheric presure changes, and the effects on nesting birds, crabs, and other creatures.
Also, since the bait will be entering the water at velocities not typically encountered by the fish along the beach, we need to seriously evaluate the possibility of head injuries to non-game fish that may be in the vicinity of these high velocity baits. I propose a parachute system to be used to insure that the baits enter at a speed no greater than 4 inches per second.
man... this environmental work is GREAT...I could come up with potential issues ALL DAY LONG!!

| yes they have been tried at PINS in '03. But that would make for one hell of a backlash or burnt thumb-glove. Check Nicks board as he posted pic.'s yesterday of it. Plus the bait would have to be frozen and fresh always works better. |
