I just got notice that the entire stock of Del Mar Distributing will put up for auction on February 1-3. Could be interesting. Check this auction website for photos and details:

| I'm a little surprised the scale does not remain with the real estate, since it's builtin. Since it's an estate sale, I guess the original owner or owners did not sell the business, but just shut it down, due to death or retirement? |

I was sad to hear that. Jack Rhode the longtime sales manager called and told me the news earlier this month. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Another sad day. I grew up off Holly between Staples and Airline. The DMD building was one of the few buildings on Yorktown along with a few scattered houses on the way to the Bluff. _________________ Life is Good |

| Great People. Hard for a family business to compete with the likes of the internet, Bass Pro Shops, etc. Prior to the info age distributors provided a lot of value as manufacturers couldn't possibly know every retailer in each market. Now everyone knows everything(relatively) and the direct to consumer/retail model increases margins. Some would say it helps the consumer by lowering costs(and thus price), but i know the cost to fill my tacklebox has only gone up. |
