I need to get another set of waders. Mine seem to have shrunk over the years.
I'm wanting a boot foot, don't want to mess with the shoes, unless it's a major advantage.
I'm thinking breathable, but I only use them a few times a year when the water is cold.
I can't break the bank on them, do use them enough to justify Simms or the likes.
Any suggestions?
Also gotta come in big boy size.
Thanks

If you are only using them when the water is cold I would go with neoprehm. Much more durable than the cheap breathable waders. Academy has a good variety of boot waders to choose from.

It's kind of like buying tires. Yes the cheapies from Wally World will work, but you don't regret a new set of Michelin's. I think finding one's that fit might lead towards the higher end. Roy's is pretty good at stocking the larger sizes. In brands other than Simms. The advantage of stocking foot is being able to change foot wear. From stingray boots, soft wading shoes to Teva sandals. All of which are much more comfortable than the boots.

I've found the Academy brand to be pretty good for its price point.

Never thought about sandles with them.
I used to have the stingray boots, suckers where heavy.

If you go with brands that are less costly, make sure you keep them in the conditioned part of the house during the summer.

I've found Simms to be worth the cost, I've spent less before and 2 years later the cost savings went out the window when it was 40 degrees and on a long wade a leak starts the first day of a 4 day trip. Even the lower end Simms hold up really well.

One last benefit of the stocking foot is that while wading soft mud, the laced up shoe will stay on much better than the unlaced boot.

Seems like I recall there being a Gulf Coast wader company mentioned here the last time this subject came up? I like the analogy of wader with tires, it's hard to be staisfied with both products! About the time you are satisfied with a pair of waders, the next thing you know you have an almost unrepairable leak on a seam. Sad
