Came down from Oklahoma the 14th-21st. Was blessed to be able to go out with Zia on Saturday morning. I had asked him to show me around as I'm not yet familiar with the waters there. Wasn't able to get out til around 10ish but still ended up with a half dozen keepers including my personal best trout at 22". Had a great time and Tom was very gracious in helping us out.
Was able to get out a couple times but couldn't ever find a consistent bite, just scattered trout here and there, mainly 14"ers. Decided to head to south pac Wednesday evening for about an hour and brought home a couple trout, mangrove, and a the biggest croaker I've caught since I was a kid.
Went back out Thursday morning and limited out on reds from 23"-26" by 9:30. Tried again Friday morning but wasn't able to replicate that success. Did catch one slot red before switching over to target some mangroves of which we kept about a dozen and a half. I know they're not as highly sought after but I've always loved eating them....they make perfect fish tacos.
Anyway that's pretty much it. Big thanks again to Zia, and can't wait for the next trip down.

Was glad to help out Jared. Glad you and your dad did get into some fish anyway. Hopefully you won't have Boat issues next time you're down.

Good to hear that things worked out (kind of). Can't do much better than hooking up with Zia.

holy carp! yeah, that looks like some "boat issues" when your boat has that much water on the inside!

good job on the mangroves!
