Has anybody ever caught or heard of someone catching tarpon downtown. I was just fishing at the Lexington and hooked into what I thought at first was a huge skipjack but then it stated taking so much drag. It jumped once and I couldn't really tell what it was because it was a good distance away. After the fact I began to think to myself. Could it have been a baby tarpon? If it was one that is the first tarpon I've ever hooked _________________ Check out my YouTube channel just getting started and give me some tips on improving my videos!

I hooked a 3 foot tarpon in the river just north of the rail road trestle - behind the Castle River neighborhood. I was using a black and white crappie jig, in a place that usually held flounder and specs now and then. Got 3 jumps out of him before he spit the hook out, flipped me off, and headed back out to sea.

| Guy I was fishing with caught a big skipjack that did that today. They can make some good runs if they're big enough. I would assume if tarpon are nearby you would see them rolling every once in a while. |

| Years ago I hooked a big one wade fishing under the causeway to Portland. It gave me a head shake above the surface before it hit the boosters and stripped all my line. |
