We all know it is never a bad idea to be prepared for when TSHTF--

That said, I wanted to share a great Generac generator forum/site--and the VERY best prices I could find!1 I have no dog in the fight--and your milage may very!

http://zillerstore.com/forums/index.php

We recently did a (self install) on a 22 kw (propane) air cooled whole house Gen.--(free shipping to front door!) We poured the slab--set Gen--dug ditch for propane line--then call Electrician--and propane people--and bam!! done! Of course it is best to coordinate with contractor---and get a couple bids.

If anyone needs more info you can PM me!

You guys are in our thoughts and prayers--as I/we have been in and around the Texas coast since 1960!!
Rocky

I hope the propane unit works well for you when it's time. However, a member of my family has one and for a couple of weeks operation their propane cost was many thousands $$$$.

We went that route, because storing that much gas--and having it deteriorate with the wonderful Ethanol--is a real pain!!

Everyone, and their situation is different--RockyI

Propane burns clean. Your oil doesn't get dirty. When all was dead I still had natural gas . Was able to cook and have a hot shower. But my generator is gas.. wow Rocky a 22kw what's that about 20,000 watts of power? Sweet. That will the furnace and central a/c unit without a problem.

They also offer the same (most) models in NG--We live out in the boonies, and had to go LPG

We have many power outages here in SW NM--of course none since we installed our unit-(4-15-17)-everyone thanking ME-saying (lol) now it won't go out!

We have an all elec. home-(heat-pump)--very nice, until power goes out!!

But have changed out ALL lightbulbs to LED-wallyworld has them pretty cheap now, also a coleman cookstove--will run on reg gas/white gas---

We also switched out our well to solar--so it will run on AC or DC--with a 1500 gal storage tank.

Everyone has different needs/wants---just some stuff we did.

You ALL are in our thoughts and prayers,
Rocky
