| We fished down to the 20 - picked up a few whiting, soaked a bait whiting about a 10 incher for 3 hours without a click. Early on there were some blowups on the water - I switched back and forth with lures, the green cocanoe got a couple of hits, but no hookups, spoon = nada, a goofy fresh water broken back bass lure ( it looks mullety) also no go. I didnt bring my top water stuff - which might have had some luck. But there were definitely fish in the water, I just wasnt throwing the right stuff. We caught the whiting on orange and pink fishbites, by the way. If we had stayed longer, we would have had several meals worth of fillets I am sure, but a low tire indicator told me it was time to head home. Water is much cleaner that last Sunday - the last day I was here, little bit of weed, all old, and the surf was getting back to looking like August again. It was good to be there. Edited to add - I plan to be back out there Monday, unless unforeseen circumstances drag me back out tomorrow, a distinct possibility. |

Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to heading down again soon. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |
