Heading down from Temple tommorow afternoon, and going straight to BHP. Looking for a good place to stop and get some live bait and i don't really know the area. Any suggestions?

in the bluff you got the bait bucket, while crossing over the bridge to the island look to the left you will see clems, billings, to the right marker 37,which is right next to snoopy's. on the way to the bridge you will see cos-way bait and the red dot both of those are right across from each other. ims

Assuming you're headed east down South Padre Island Drive, after crossing the high bridge over the Intracoastal, turn right, reverse directions until you can turn right again beneath the bridge, and the first bait stand you come to will be Billings. Because the main road is divided and one-way, when you leave Billings be sure to go back the way you came so you'll be heading towards Bob Hall.

BTW, how does someone from Temple wind up in a sewer pipe? Always was a liitle prejudiced against sewer pipe sailors because my boot camp company commander was one. He took a look at my pot belly, asked what the drinking age was in Texas, and from then on called me the company camel. After my basic battery test scores came back, he swore if he gave me a screwdriver to do a job I'd probably kill myself with it, instead.

Too bad, I hate Navy recruiters even worse.

I was born in a Navy hospital, carried Navy I.D. from age 13 until I was discharged at 23. Expected to a lifer like my father, with hash marks up to my elbow. Recruiter here in CC strung me along with the promise of college and commission via the NESEP, seeing as I already had my AA from Del Mar. He knew full well then that my coke-bottle eyeglasses meant I'd never physically qualify for the commission. So, after I served my first enlistment as a corpsman, I left and went off to TAMU under the GI Bill.

Bait Bucket in the Bluff. Family owned and great folks. Take the last exit in the Bluff and stay on the service road. It is located just before you get to the surf shop.
