Somebody is rifling through unlocked cars at night on the island again and/or still. Our glove compartments were open with the contents strewn about this morning. Nothing in there to begin with other than maintenance manuals and proof of insurance, but it still sucks to have people mess with your stuff. Lock your doors or watch what you leave in there. Especially those garage door openers - thankfully i figured out that last one a long time ago.

Curious, whereabouts on the island where you mile-wise? I'm wondering if these events are more common further north where there's more traffic as opposed to further south where not as many folks are...

I am guessing you are on the west side of Park Rd 22. When we are on the island in the winter we are on the beach Side of 22 off whitecap. Our condo complex has security that walks the grounds at night. I often tell the young men good morning when I am loading rods in the rack heading out predawn. I giving them booze a couple of times each month reminding them that this white F150 enjoys seeing you during the night.

Leave your car unlocked in most any city long enough and it will get gone through. Corpus just has a much less wait time.

A very well known guide on the island had their vehicles broken into last night (tuesday) and alot of gear was stolen. They called the police at 8am and they NEVER SHOWED! CCPD called them around 5pm wanting to collect evidence but him and his wife had to use their vehicles obviously, so the PD said it was too late now to collect evidence. TOTALLY PATHETIC ATTEMPT BY CCPD TO HELP THE CITIZENS! And this BS with CCPD is a continuing trend it appears from all the flour bluff and island group posts on this topic. There is a guy going around from Vivint home security that went by their house wanting to sell security cameras the evening before this happened. I think the salesman is in on this and so do many others. People are really getting tired of CCPD not helping to resolve cases.

fall 2014 was working in corpus for couple months, wife got a condo on the island for the weekend, first night they smashed passenger window of the jeep, or tried, had no idea side windows were laminated tempered glass. they didnt get in, would have been shot but were already turning when got out to see what was up.
never the less they SUCK...
