Heb has a section of fresh shrimp daily not frozen. They are the headless for 11.99 a pound. I also watch 361 fishing because sometimes they sell fresh shrimp for a good price. That's when I buy 40 to 50 lbs head them and freeze them in water. I have no idea what they sell for in Port A.? But fresh daily shrimp in the 16 count range headless for 11.99 works for me. We always had a shrimp boat or 2 while growing up so I know what to look for . Of course you can't beat fresh off the boat. Like any seafood.

What time do the shrimp boats come in at the
"L" or "T-heads? I haven't bought off the boat since 2008 but plan to
later mid-week.

If memory serves me they were $6.00/lb last year off of the Pollyanna. That was up from $5.00/lb the year before.

I've never gotten anything bigger than 15 -20 count from them though. And usually they are 20 - 25 count.

My favorite place to buy fresh shrimp is in Palacios. Drive down to the docks to Domino's. They sell 10 -14 count for $3 to $4 bucks per lb. Shrimp boats come in around 3pm daily. Bought them before still flipping.

6 bucks a pound is a good price if you don't figure in all the travel costs. Because getting out for a ride is always fun. So I'm good with 11-12 bucks a pound for 15 - 16 count headless 1/2 mile from the house . Boiling size run 6 bucks a pound. Have a nice boil.

I went over Monday and bought 3 pounds .... just for myself. I got a total of 66 shrimp (heads on) and the count broke down something like this ....

10 ..... were 12 - 15 count
20 ..... were 16 - 20 count
36 ..... were 25 - 30 count

Back up towards DSH there is a boat .... Peggy Ann ... selling shrimp and I stopped by there. They have a sign up saying .... Super Jumbos = $8/lb.; large = $6/lb; Med = $4/lb.

I bought some shrimp from them a few years ago and I recall that they will remove the heads for you after you purchase them heads on.

Hmmmm medium $4/lb? that's better than The Bait Bucket lol
