So I caught this flounder a while back and I didn't bother to take any measurements. Now I'm kinda curious. I've seen some of you guys do some great detective work to debunk claims of 30+" trout. Was hoping you could give me an idea of how long and wide using the same techniques. To get the "That guy is full of s....." Juices flowing, I'm going to say this was around 23" long.

Need a little more info to make a good guess.
Is that a 50' or 75' water hose?
What size are your crocs?
How long is the stringer the fish is on?
Are you 7' 5" tall or 5' 4" tall.
Given the lack of info, I would say your guess of 23" is pretty dang close. |

LOL!
I'm 5'7". The only point of reference I could use was the fist that I'm making while holding the stinger. I measured my fist and it's about 3" from my index finger to my pinky.
I'm actually guessing that it's about 20". |

Check your hand measurement again. It's nearly a universal that across most guys hands is approximately 4 inches.
As such, based on my handy-dandy, ultra-scientific calipers, measured on the screen - that fish is just shy of 18 inches (seems small, but then again, it's a guess).
If your hand really is only 3 inches across (NOT a Trump joke here!), then that fish is just shy of 19 inches.
Either way, it doesn't strike me as a doormat of the mid-20's range (you even get the advantage of the super-streched jaw from hanging it like that). Quality fish, none-the-less.

| I got 18-19" too via eyeballing the width of sunglasses. |

Definitely less than the 28" I caught a few years ago. _________________ Live like you're dying |

measure the real length of one of you sunglass lenses. Looks to me to be about 2 1/4". Based on what I figured from the picture there are 9 .25 lenses in the length of the fish. So I got it figured at just a little north of 21".

I never thought about measuring sunglasses. Can't be much difference from one pair to the next. Excellent.

This got my attention now.
Got the ol' ruler pressed against the computer screen. The fish on my screen is six inched long. Making a guess at the sunglasses...left edge of glass to right edge of glass on the computer screen is 1.5 inches. My assumption is the glass edge to edge two dimensional measurement is 5 inches in actual size. 6/1.5 = 4 to 1 ratio, 4 x 5 inches = 20 inches. |
