While fishing the south PA jetty a few weeks back I caught a couple 10-12" Black Sea Bass. Not knowing any length or possession limits I thew them both back.

Now looking I don't see anything on them. All sizes are fair game?

I'd like to keep on next time just to taste one.

Don't think I've ever seen or know of those being caught around here. Looked at TPW limits, didn't see listed. Supposed to be good eating, record was 10lb. and change from Virginia. Interesting.

Not going to say that they were not Black Sea Bass, but they were most likely a very young Grouper. I have caught lots of Gag Grouper over the years fishing the Port Mansfield Jetties that could match the looks of the Black Sea Bass They are very good eating but I think the minimum length is 22 inches. When someone fishing with me on my boat caught one and asked what kind it was, I identified it as a "Captain's Fish"!
