What are y'alls favorites? I know it's always better at home, but have a buddy coming in from out of town and was wanting to get in on some good seafood action for lunch. Any hidden gems?

There is not a huge selection of 'fresh' seafood ANYWHERE, despite living right next to the Gulf???? WHO KNEW!?!?! Cool

baffling and a little embarrassing when people from out of town ask me where they should go.

personally, the best seafood I've had is from my buddy Gary who runs a food truck. He doesn't do the seafood often from his truck, but he is a no BS master chef. used to be the head chef at virginias on the bay in port A. incredible chef.

Black Diamond if around the Bluff or Island. They have an incredible bacon cheeseburger and fries also. Sounds crazy, but i dress it with tartar sauce, ie, mayo, pickles, and onions. It was a accident the first time, but WOW! Makes perfect sense now. $$

"Fish and Chips" at Snoopy's is about as good of a fried fish as I have ever eaten in a restaurant...... Tempura style. $$

Water Street Oyster Bar if Downtown. $$$

I'm sure Salt Water Grill is good, but I had a incident with managment. My grilled shrimp came out gorgeous, butterflied and plump. I then realized none of them had been deveined. Pointed it out to the manager and he accused me of trying to get a free meal. I was fighting mad. Left the waitress a 20% tip and the food on the table.

The Blue Clove is the best in town and nobody else is even coming close. Drive by that place during lunch or dinner and good luck finding a place to park. The guy is obviously spending very little on overhead and putting nothing but quality into every dish they offer. It is the absolute best. Here is a link to their Yelp review.

On a pretty day/night, I will take a cold beer and snoopy's shrimp and rice with a laguna view over the other places mentioned, though they are good as well.

First started eating at Snoopy's in the winter of 1982, being called to pick-up by Paul's raspy, hoarse voice. Fire in the fireplace and same good food. Quite the feat to grow and add on and add on and add on and still be the same.

Rolled onto the island last October for my son's wedding and the first (really, the first) place I stopped was Snoopy's for a cold beer and fish taco's. Three day's later on my way home the last place I stopped was Snoopy's for fish and chips and a cold beer. Very Happy

Have to agree, although this time of year a couple dozen oysters on a half shell are great
