Fished the guad this past weekend and had plenty of action. The trout are in and they are feeding. Egg patterns seemed to work best, also heard tan San juans are working too. The fish had some good size to them as well, biggest hooked was around 3 pounds.
Sorry no pics, I don't bring my phone because I fall in a lot! 😬
If you've never had a chance I recommend fishing the guad, it's a unique fishery that's only a few hours away. [/img] |

| Yes. It's full of trout and it's wadeable. |

| I was thinking about going to the Guad around New Years and don't know much about the place. Any leads on where good places to park and walk/wade? No Yak so I'll be Rookie-ing it up for my first adventure. |

Sorry for the slow reply.
Your best bet is to stop by the fly shop in settler and the fly shop named action angler on river road. They will set you up with what you need. Keep in mice you'll need totally different gear than what you use down here.
Spots are kind of tough to get to if you are not a trout unlimited member. I believe white water amphitheater is free. Other spots such as devils playground at l&l campground and action angler charge 5 dollars for river access.
Make sure you have good traction on your waders because it can be slippery in some spots.
Again visit the local fly shops and spend some money to support local business and they will be happy to point you in the right direction. |
