...I forgot my phone so I had to leave the P out of the CPR. On Thursday I fished from about 11:30 till about 2. I was mainly scouting for friends Steve and Lauren, who were going out fishing on Friday. I never made any more than one drift in any spot. Fish were scattered, nothing concentrated, as you might imagine with the very high tides in the laguna.
I wound up catching 5 keeper trout and a bunch of undersized as small as 7". Also got 3 reds. Two of the reds were around 23" but the third was a real nice 32 incher. A real line stripper.
I caught them on a variety of soft plastics including tequila sand eel, chartreuse sand eel, pumpkinseed bull minnow, white curly tail gulp, pink paddle tail and a purple sand shad.

Steve and Lauren went Friday to the spots I told them and got 9 trout and 2 reds using live shrimp under a cork.

Nice Zia...a friend of mine just nailed a 29.5 inch trout in front of the power station this morning. I tried to talk him into letting her go but he is going to eat her.

I've killed about 4 big trout 28+. Their fillets never come out very good. I'm done keeping them unless they're gut hooked. However, big redfish come out just fine!
