this time of year (I fish the Backyard) I switch out the trebles and throw a single 3/0 octopus sport circle on the back....put it on the right way and the off-set faces up....allows you to work the toppies through the heavy grass areas....

yes, hook ups go down a little, but then again I'm just that kind of whacko that will take ALL the hooks off a topwater and throw it for fun.....gets great action, and I have actually reeled in a redfish that got it wedged in his mouth sideways....no hooks....

I switched a few years back, actually kinda love em . It's easyer to unhook, easyer on the fingers, it doesn't tear up the smaller fish .theres a chart somewhere on which hooks to use on what lures, like 1/0 for super spook juniors and catch 2000's. I like the gamagatzu live bait hooks, they have the little ring on them that makes it a lot easyer swapping them out .havent noticed less hook ups either .

Oh yeah, that chart is on a end cap at Roy's in the hook section .
Good luck man !

I'll look for it next time I'm there. May have bought the wrong sized hooks. Thanks for the tip

When I used to use Johnson's sprite gold spoons a lot I would put two small single hooks on the back facing in opposite directions. Fished like it was a weedless spoon and the hooks are better than they are on their actual weedless spoons, which were quite dull.
