Fishing Report from Sun. 4.3.16
Started out early Sunday morning at Bird Island Basin and ran down south with a couple old time fishing buds, David Perez and Kasey Vardon to Baffin Bay. We first stopped short of the south shoreline as the sonar was showing a huge school of fish on the bottom in about 9ft of water. after no takers we headed to the black bluff area. boat next to us had waders in the water and i saw them catch and release a dink trout. after about an hour we headed across the bay and fished the west end of the tide gauge bar. we were having way too much fun and way too loud to be catching any but several boats next to us managed a few dinks again. i got out and started to wade and nothing happened. we finally moved into the south edge of the badlands and finally i got hooked up on a head shaker of a trout. as i got him next to the boat Kasey hollers out ...Thats a Nice One...at the same time i was thinking how i was gonna fillet that sucker.....naturally he shakes himself off and gets away lol. then immediately right after that...BAM!!!.....Davids drag starts screaming, pole bent damn near in half and after about 30 to45 seconds ..... nothing the line goes limp....so after another hour we decide to call it a day after having a great day on the water b.s.ing and reliving other past great fishing days on the water, (we did all start out as yaking buds back in the days) after all what else could happen..right!!!..wrong!!! on the way back to the ramp guess what...the Game Warden pulls us over...we don't have any fish to measure so they shake down the boat checking all the normal safety stuff and then bring aboard the drug dog. well guess what!!! we past!!! so we headed in after having a fun day out. there was a guy cleaning a red caught on a gold spoon earlier in the day and we did see a few fish thrown into the box on other boats so the real fishing report is....have fun and dont always worry about the fish......until the next report....
GOOD LUCK TO ALL |

Have you ever noticed how big trout will make a short run away and then turn and run right back at you? They don't get big by being dumb. _________________ "I do hunt and I do fish and I do not apologize to anyone that I hunt and fish." - Norman Schwarzkopf |
