|
|
I've got a 23' Wellcraft CC sitting on a 25 (+?) year old trailer. Due to inspections, etc., I've been crawling under it, dissecting it, trying to determine how much work it needs. For sure it needs two cross members replaced , new springs and new brakes.
Sketchy numbers tell me I am looking at $1500 or more.
I contacted a trailer maker in Houston and he has an all aluminum, tandem axle with brakes for $3850 .... plus TTL. That sounds like a good price but the logistics are not favorable for me.
I thought I would poll the corpusfishing.com community to see who they would talk locally to if they were in the market for a new trailer.
All suggestions are appreciated. |

| Coastline Trailers in Seadrift was more convenient to me, plus they are strong supporters of CCA. I did not get brakes, because my total weight is under the Texas limit and I never pull very far. I had brakes on my galvanized trailer until they rusted so badly I had to do something, so when I learned I didn't have to have beakes I just disconnected them. |

Man, been there done that!!! Had two galvanized trailers before finally getting my aluminum trailer (Tyler w Tex-all near Houston)
Best thing I ever did.... I had replaced hubs, axles, springs, etc.. Both trailers were money pits. I go from Boerne to as far as PM and having my new aluminum trailer has made trips way less stressful and predictable! |

Thanks guys. I'll be checking these out.
I too would be interested in knowing why you would not want another Coastline trailer. |

Man I highly recommend coastline. My boat and trailer were bought from my fishing buddy and even though I'm not the original owner they have replaced three lights on my trailer free under their lifetime warranty. While doing it they did a couple minor repairs/touch-ups that I didn't ask for or really notice and it was no charge! _________________ Take a kid fishing, best investment for them and our future of fishing. |
