| What Happened to the water !!! this is one of the lowest tides i've seen in awhile. The ICW is running like a river. however you can use this low tide to locate danger areas like the pilings just south of the jfk causeway that most people have either forgotten about or never new existed. also gives you a chance to locate oyster reefs and etc. and see what else is outside of the channels while boating, yaking and wading, whether there are areas to avoid or find a new fishing hole. anyway i got skunked today. gps sonar showing lots of fish at all levels in the ICW. I threw everything I had at them and nothing. Ii moved to north crash channels and did some sight casting along the edges and even though i saw plenty of fish i could not get them to take anything their either. moved into the boat hole where i did not catch anything but i did see another boat pulling in some thing heavy. after watching them for a while i assumed it was a big drum and moved on to try wade fishing both dimmit and east dimmit.later on i did see a school of dolphin eating and decided to head in emtpy. no reports today from anyone else that i know who was out. if anybody had any better luck please reply or post. good luck!!! |

Looooots of trout over all the grass flats south of JFK. 30-40 in the slot today. All but one went 15"-18" the one big decided to let go at the yak. That east wind was stronger than expected. Didnt get out until after 1PM. _________________

We fished the Laguna on Thursday and found the trout staged in the ICW along the edge of the channel in about 4-5' of water. About 1 in 5 were keepers on Down South Lures. We picked up 8 keeper trout and then moved down to Packery since the tide was SUPER LOW and the East wind had picked up around noon. Got to packery and fished a cut that was holding some really nice drum and sheepshead. We also picked up a few nice flounder free lining live shrimp. The fish are definitely there, you just gotta find em!!!
