Heard it was real slow.
It's a shame. 10-15 yrs ago the boat show was great. Guides would give talks, lots of great booths, things for both kids and adults. Now it's just boring. Haven't gone in several years now.

I agree with shallowsport. I bought an off-shore boat from Gunderland back in 1997 and the show seemed to go down hill after that. Haven't been to the show for several years due to the same reason shallowsport gave.

It was exactly like walking into the dealerships except they were all under one roof and there was a $10 charge for adults and $5 for kids 6 and over.

I went and was really disappointed. Maybe a total of 20 booths with vendirs and the like. Nothing to get excited about. Could have saved the ten bucks and gone to the dealership and got the same deals. No seminars or free lures like there used to be when it was down on the bay front.

I would think having all the dealerships under one roof would be worth the ten dollars in time alone not having to drive around to all of them to look at their products.

Not sure if its the economy but I do remember more booths and seminars in the past. Its nice to see all the boats under one roof but there were alot of local dealers not there this year.

It's not the economy it's the crappy promoter. We didn't go this year because the last two years it was a waste of money. They need more vendors and activities. The San Antonio boat show was always a great event.

Went with wife and kids and thought it was fine. Window shopped for a couple of hours. Talked about all the options I wanted on my imaginary boats/campers. Actually convinced the wife to let me buy something soon. Best $30 spent all weekend.

I'd like to go to a boat show sometime that actually has fishing boats.

The best one here is nothing but wakeboard boats, jet skis and pontoons.

I have been to several boat shows. I lived at one time about 10 miles north of Louisville, KY. I went to several shows while living there. They had a lot of informational booths with acclaimed pro fishermen at some of the booths to give info and answer questions. A lot of giveaways. A lot of boat factory reps at the booths and boat dealers to help answer questions. A lot of info from vacation spots as far way as Texas, Florida, Canada and Minnisota. They were worth the time and entrance fees. You could book a place and guide. They had several seminars by pro fisherman. Always got a lot of info on fishing and boats. Excellent show. I went to Corpus Boat show a couple of times at the American Bank Center. Not very good. Kind of like some have said, just dealers under one roof. I have never been to another show in this area.

it has become just like the home and garden show. its just a way for vendors to aquire your info so they can call you relentlessly. plus make ten bucks (each).

We went. Kind of disappointing. When we lived in NY we went to the Boat show in New Port Rhode Island. That was quite the show.

Back in '93 and '97 I coached at the World Scholar Athlete Games in Newport. That is one pretty town.
