Cool, cloudy, occasional drizzle, light N winds both days. Yesterday fished about 1/2 mile down and there wasn't any weed. Today we drove down 18 miles and there was lots of fine bladed grass that kept bring my lines in. One specked trout yesterday and nothing today. Used live pin fish. Fished from 2 till dark both days. Today I was driving in and about 1 mile from the gate the rangers had a road block and they said they were checking the performance of the people at the gate. They wanted to see my receipt for getting in. I showed them my senior pass & they wanted to know if the guard checked my ID to see if it was really my pass. Also wanted to know if the guard was nice. Asked if we had any questions and sent us on our way.

Interesting... I've had nothing but good experiences with the guards at the gate.

Kind of surprised that they didnt get you to.do a drunk test or frisk you trying to find a reason to give you a ticket or some stupid crap. I've never been checked once in the fifteen plus years I have been down the beach about having my pass.

You haven't been down south much in the past few years, have ya CS? actually, what it is, and doesn't surprise me that they're using "feedback/comment surveys" as a guise to stop people and give them a shake down....

next thing will be spot tire pressure checks....."hands on the hood boy, until I check all your tire pressures!!!" Shocked

Lol "I notice you are running lower than recommended tire pressure, care to explain?"

Or "your tire pressure above the recommended is potentially endangering other law abiding beach goers, is that a result of imparted judgement?"

When I bought my year pass at the gate maybe 3 months ago, there were two people in the gate. One was a younger guy just doing his normal thing, taking my money etc, and then there was another ranger behind him at the window and he told me to stick my arm out of the car very sternly. I though he was making sure I wasnt reaching into my glove compartment for a gun or something silly so i just rested my arm on my car window. But then he said no stick it out and so I did and he ran his radio over the length of my arm. I asked what he was doing and he said he was checking for a chip in my arm. I started laughing assuming it was a joke because he was just using a radio and he remained extremely stern. He was not joking around here.

Anyone have a similar experience or know what was going on with this?
