Last week I was able to make it to try some artificial near Sunday Beach. Was throwing soft plastics on edge of 5-6 foot drop off and the trout bite was awesome. Mostly small trout but I did manage to get a limit of nice trout between all the small 13-14" trout. The bite was really good between 10-11:00. Was surprised that with bait and Redfish thick in the shallow grass I only was able to get them to bite in deeper water.
Yesterday, I went to Keller Bay and soaked some croakers and came back with some full ziplock bags. 5 of us on the boat all with limits of trout. I went up shallow and caught the only red of the day but the fish held same pattern, they were all in or near the drop off in about 4-5 feet of water. That was my first time fishing Keller Bay but I am definitely going back. Even with increasing mid morning winds the bay water stayed beautiful
The red on half shell with deer sausage smoked on grill topped off my day off😎 _________________ Take a kid fishing, best investment for them and our future of fishing. |

| I've never fished Keller Bay, but love the Port O'Conner/West Matagorda area. Keller is probably a little less traveled? glad you had a good experience! |

Yes definitely a nice change from Port Occonor, there was only one other boat fishing and one boat setting up some type of markers. I'm lucky in the fact I work retail so most of my days off are on the weed day(perfect for fishing less crowded waters). Also helps having 3 fishing buddies who are all retired so they work around my schedule to fish. _________________ Take a kid fishing, best investment for them and our future of fishing. |

Good report. Sounds like a lot of fun. _________________ "I do hunt and I do fish and I do not apologize to anyone that I hunt and fish." - Norman Schwarzkopf |

I usually go up for a weekend and fish poc one day and keller bay another, and sometimes we hit up point comfort as well. Hoping to be up there in a couple weeks to wet a line. Been 10 months since ive been able to get out lol |
