Anybody from Austin and beyond, fishing the tournament that would like to hook up? This will be my fourth time, I've always gotten there early in order to secure a spot between the 25mm and 30mm! Send me a message. _________________ ALPHAHOOK |

Registration didn't fill up until late into the night it seems, wonder if participation is down or if they expanded entries? There are hardly any Sharkathon threads on any of the forums this year. _________________ JJ |

I realized that too. Maybe everyone is trying to be hush hush about it? Usually there's at least a few threads up begging for an entry. I must say, this year registration went lots smoother. Either they got a better server or not as many people trying to get in. Either way I'm still fishing it. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

Looked like a better server backend, which leads me to expect it would have filled up. I've only fished it in 2012 and the crowd was nuts, probably would not want to fish if it gets any worse than that so I'm hoping they didn't add entries. _________________ JJ |

I think that if entries were added it really wouldn't be that many. I think I heard that the organizers didn't want to add any more entries because of the crowding issue. With the crowding comes more trash and more clean up afterwards. Some may not know but the organizers also take off of work the Monday after the event to clean our beloved beach and lots of the trash left behind. It's a leave no trace event so adding entries and making it more accessible would or could possibly taint the Sharkathon name. That's just my 2 cents. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |
