Water is dirty. Lots of mullet were in the wade gut 5-6 steps off the sand. I threw a Skitterwalk for 4 hours Saturday morning hoping to catch some surf trout, but mostly because I've been working so much and fishing so little, I needed some salt water therapy. Then at 11:30 with people everywhere in the water and on the beach, I caught this trout. I wish the battery had not been dead on my go pro so you could have seen how shallow I caught it. But also to record the look on everyone's faces when I pulled her up on the beach. Funny how one fish caught will cause me to spend hours trying to do it again.
Fished all morning today Sunday and nothing. Water looked the same and the bait was scattered. I ate fish this evening. It was good! _________________ Taught my dog everything she knows! |

| Nice catch! How big was she? The water has looked crappy so much I haven't even bothered. My buddies got limits of trout this past weekend from the north jetty but they had to work for them. Despite the water color they've been getting their share. Limits pretty much every weekend most in the 20s. |

| Nice job, I was tempted to do some top lure fishing in the surf but I knew it was likely going to be hard work and I didn't have the patience. Tons of mullet indeed this weekend glad your hard work paid off.. |

The trout was 26" coarse I was holding it such to maximize the visual. _________________ Taught my dog everything she knows! |

Makes sense to me. Fish are instinctlively spooky in clear water but move shallower and closer to structure and cover in murky/muddy conditions. The most amazing GIANT croaker bute I ever experienced was on the surf sude of the north Fish Pass Jetty, casting basically where the beach and jetty meet, in dirty water and rough conditions. Caught maybe a dozen and left them biting! _________________ Dave
