Went to the beach this morning south of the bowl. Started fishing in the cold, murky water about 10am. Very little weed, all old, but the water was murky dark to past the last sand bar. Did see some diving pelicans, but way out where the water was clearer. Only catch --2 small hardheads. Then the storm hit around noon....with winds gusting to 40--- and suddenly the outgoing tide was coming in, and we were getting sandblasted. Loaded up and left...passed several twisted canopies which people were trying to save.
Driving was smooth and not so many people on the beach. |

| Thanks for the report. Yeah I just got off the water when that front hit. Glad I was not in the boat then. |

^^ The Bowl is ~ 4 miles south of Bob Hall. Notorious 4WD dune driving area, and home to some of the most epic bonfire / keg bashes [but that's at least what I heard during my High School days, WAY back when..... ] |

That report reflects most of what I experienced at the 103 Monday and Tuesday.... A couple of small fat black tips. Mullet was large and scarce, but plenty of baby pompano... I hate wasting a pomp for bait. _________________ I wouldn't take Tuesday off if you will show me a fish that bites on weekends! |
