Literally, I was catching trout on chatter weights. I attached a small hook with a split ring to my chatter weight and then dropped a lure 10" below. Like using a stimulator and a nymph in freshwater trout fishing. Got a couple trout on the chatter weight including one time a double. Only got two keeper trout though today.

Thanks. I was fishing with one in the Nueces and based on the feel of the hit an not hooking anything I thought they were hitting the chatter weight.

What size hook did you attach?

Used to put a hook on popping corks for the same reason.
