Went out a couple of hours this morning near access road 3. Surf was beautiful and clear, with breakers 1-2 ft. I threw a silver spoon, a chartreuse and chrome Mirrolure, and a Rapala X-Rap silver with red under the gills. Targeting trout, I caught 7 nice whiting in the first hour or so on both the spoon and X-Rap, but had no luck on the Mirrolure. Finally, I caught a fat 17 inch trout on the X-Rap, then called it a day. I'm about to fry the bad boy up for lunch with some french fries.

Another fellow fishing nearby caught 4 nice trout while I was there about the time I caught my trout, but the fish did not stick around. They will bite fiercely if you have a school come through I reckon. I also saw a couple of 3 foot sharks caught.

Ditto on those sharks. There were lots and lots and lots of them in the 2-3 foot range hurding mullet. Everytime I found a school of mullet to cast up there was a small shark behind them in the first gut. It was cool to see. Glad you got your trout.

Nice, I had no luck on the trout this morning. Evenings are working better for me right now.
