Been thinking about what the different thoughts would be on this. If you could only have one artificial bait for any and all of the different waters we all fish in,and eating or not eating depended on your choice of baits. Which one would you pick and why? Funny I don't throw one much but.........
I think for me it would have to be a weedless spoon,silver,for the durability and potential of many different species in all types of water. Anyone else?

Tequila gold sand eel. I've caught trout, reds, flounder, drum, skipjack, sand trout, snook, perch, mullet, hardheads and lizardfish on them.

3/8 ounce silver Kastmaster spoon because of longevity. If I could have a super magic plastic for this hypothetical then I would choose a pink Sea Shad.

I vote with Tyler on this one, gold spoon. The question was ONE artificial, not many of one type. To me that rules out plastcs. IF the question had been what TYPE of artificial, i would go with a plastic swimbait, rigged weedles on a weighted hook. Everything eats 'em!

Do fishbites count? If so, then the pink shrimp. Kills it with and without shrimp, I say. Very Happy

A Spec rig. The yellow and white one. Wink

That may be because I grew up throwing them, I have more experience with jigs than any other lure.

If I could find one, my second choice would be the old gold and green Mirrolures.

The jigs you would find in pilot survival kits (At least the WWII ones) were unweighted white maribou. You could buy them at the old GI Surplus on SPID, they used a thimble of brown cotton (or maybe Dacron) line

I would opt for a silver spoon. I have caught more fish on that lure than any other over the years, and the nice thing is they are cheaper.

My thinking was kinda survival related. Like if you were dumped at the coast in the middle of nowhere, with a rod and reel, and had to eat,preferably a nice game fish, and only one artificial could be picked. How would you finish this sentence: man if I only had a _______,I know I could catch a fish, right now, tomorrow, next week,etc. I'm thinking no on the fish bites as an artificial
