Hit the surf SBH about 9am. Set up one rod in the 1st gut with shrimp/fishbites. Went to get a 2nd pole to set up, fish on! It was that fast all day with whiting. Had to have caught 25-30. A short while later my 2nd rod, which I finally get rigged the same way, bends over and stays that way. Reel in a 24" drum. (got another that went about 19").Then a couple firsts from the surf this spring. A nice 26" red, a sheepie and a jack. Had a 3rd rod with cut whiting that finally got hit. Thought, ok, another red. Not to be. A fat 16.75" hardhead.
After pulling in a pomp, that made seven species of fish caught today.
Tried to add a pic but photobucket said I was over bandwidth.

Good going!
I was going to hit it but I thought the surf would be ripping and roaring because of the wind so I wussed out. I sure would have like a few of those fat drum.
