Hello all,
I've been reading the posts for a while and have enjoyed the forum. Anyway I just bought a boat and my crew is heading down for the first part of March for a week. I've done the majority of my fishing in the LLM and Rockport North and live in Houston while only for a short while, learning the Galveston bay system. I have never fished the Corpus area and I'm looking forward to learning that bay system.
Eventually we hope to buy a place on the Island and utilize it for a place to hang our hats and a investment.
I have a question and hope y'all can lead me in the right direction, where is the best place to take fresh fish I hope to catch for a restaurant to cook up for us?. Down at SPI we take our fish to Daddy's and it is delicious.
Thanks for any help,

Welcome. I know Castaways in Port Aransas cooks your catch. Maybe Laguna Reef in Flour Bluff does. _________________ But you ain't got no legs Lt. Dan, I know that |

| I know the reef and scuttlebutts will do it. A lot of people have been down on the reef lately, but i've never had a bad meal there. Scuttlebutts is good also. |

This reminds me of a story, which I shall start with...
"This one time at" .... the Black Diamond, I brought in a cooler with our fish to be cooked. The fillets were on ice in baggies. As I gave them to our courteous server to take to the kitchen I discovered a few forgotten "cold ones" still in the cooler under the baggies. I was sitting against the back wall and decided to casually help myself to one. Most likely we had ordered some oysters on the half to start and when they arrived my now half empty "cold one" was observed, questioned, scorned and confiscated. Our server started to exhibit some excitement in her tone. Composure was maintained, no need for a scene, what's the big deal anyway, "here you can take it." If I recall correctly, I quietly protested by only having water with my meal, but didn't skimp on the tip - it wasn't her fault I tried to pull a fast one. _________________ kick your shoes off and cast a line |

Was it a premium beer like Flour Bluff Stout? aka Milwaukee's Best light? Probably a beer they didn't offer anyway _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Probably just a Coors Light in a can, which might be considered highbrow compared to some other brands. It was the can that tipped it off. The cooler, by the way, never came into play. So I brought in and left with alcohol.
To my defense, after a long day on the water with buddies, I say a fisherman is not responsible for what may or may not be left in a cooler. Think of it as part of the Fisherman's Code, like parlay is to pirates.
And that my friends is my creative writing exercise for the day!

Thanks for all the suggestions, now I got to figure out that bay system. I've been looking at the maps and google earth to figure out some starting places. Now I need to put a few in the box for some good eats. I'm not going to be able to get to skinny with my new boat like we do on the LLM fishing with my Dad, but I know there out there somewhere.
I love the Corpus area as I spent many vacations in my youth on PINS with my family.
