My buddies had a break in Wed. morning at their storage unit on the island. It's the one across from bob hall pier. There was a couple of surf rods in it and some tackle but that's the least of our concerns. The big issue is that hey did manage to steal about $20 K in music equipment. Numerous guitars, amps, sound systems etc. The pictures from the surveillence camera show a 2 door Ford Explorer around 2001 model with a busted out passenger side back window. It looks like there are a couple of beach stickers in the window. we have had a lot of friends come by in the past and they used our code to get into the gate so there has to be some connection to us. I know how much you guys like thieves so I thought I would post it on here. Any info would really be appreciated. I will keep you guys posted with any updates.

Robby

I just found out they tried to come back last night/this morning (2am) to finish the job but the code had been disabled. It appears they were in an older body style suburban.

Hopefully they are caught and charged with grand theft due to the value. I did have one response from someone saying this vehicle frequents Packery.

unfortunately i am one of the victims . we have recently had a report that the car has been seen at packery park and in the bluff before so please all locals help us out and keep you eyes peeled.

should be pretty easy to spot a silver two door 2000ish model explorer wrecked on the passenger side and missing the rear passenger window. oh it also has two beach passes in the window.

I'm on the hunt and its only a matter of time Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

thanks,

If only that one unit was broken into, they knew what was in there. So, a "friend" or friend of a friend seems to be the most likely suspect to me.

When it comes to guitars, amps, and other band stuff it's amazing what some "friends" will do to you. Years back a bandmate let me borrow the Fender Telecaster that his grampa had given him. I had a roommate who worked nights at a restaurant and stayed home smoking dope all day, locked in his room. This was the mid 70's y'all.......

Anyhow, this guy happened to be a guitar player too, and I had my drums set up in the den. Came home from work one day and this jerk was putting on the sob story about how someone had broken in a stolen my bud's ax, even though my drums were sitting there untouched!! We all knew that my roommate had the guitar in his trunk or somewhere else, but besides an a$$ whuppin and taking his keys, how's a guy to know?????

I wouldn't put anything past at least 1/3 of the folks out there, "friend" or not! Evil or Very Mad

Sure do hope you get your stuff back. I'd be pawn shop bound!

My first thought too. Would have been way too easy to get the license plate and faces

Start cruising Craigslist and the other sale boards. Esp those outside of town, San Antonio etc.

Pawn shops are better checked by the PD pawn shop detail, they will lie to anyone not a cop. Remember, pawn shops hold stuff in the back as well as in front, some store goods off site or transfer items to other stores all over the state.

As already mentioned, this is someone you know. Note if any of your friends comes into new toys

if I had the free time I'd cruise shopping center parking lots. They are going to spend any money they get rather quickly. Pick up the car that way.

Walmart or HEB in the bluff would be good spots.

I hate to see bad things happen to good people, Robby. I hope somehow you get everything back. My old man's storage unit got robbed last year. When we found out we also learned that the security cameras weren't even hooked up. I'm happy you have a lead.
