sporatic action but we got a 1person limit between the 3 of us just west of Hondo at cousin's place..
this morn some friends and neighbors all limited on an old sesame field..
day lease...
some of our doves had sesame in the craw..a few old sunflowers, too.. inside the city limits the winter whitewings were still flocking thick...
also saw several big flocks of geese/cranes ( too far to identify)out on the praire west of Hondo...
clear blue day,, some iffy driving into the field.. but we had tractors if needed (didnt )
just before sundown Single Malt time
a good afternoon. _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |

Haven't had many at our Alice lease. In fact I have not even been out this year. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

dove lovers, enjoy!
more winter mourning dove than I've seen in my life!
and Hondo is still thick w/wintering white-wings...
these birds will mostly fly north in spring, but a few will stay...
and our resident birds that fled south will be back..
the area west of San Antonio is becoming the Texas dove capital.
I like that!
if it warms early in late Feb, we will here mating-cooing calling...
happened before, but WAY bigger numbers this year. _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |
