Tying is a lot of fun. Im no expert, but used to tie a bunch of my own flies for trout fishing.
We used a lot of scud patterns on the white river. I tied a bunch of assorted clousers over the winter knowing Id have a 7/8 weight this year for bass, and for the surf. Its light for surf, but will work well as a bass rod throwing streamers I think.
Good luck finding a vice! There are lots of great videos on youtube about fly tying these days too. |

Thanks man I ended up getting an Atlas vise by anvil... Freakin' love it so far. Full rotary vise makes all the difference.

I have a Regal Vise and it is rock solid and seems indestructible, and it sure holds a hook!
I only tie saltwater flies so it works perfect for my needs.
