Got back last week from Playa Blanca Lodge, Punta Pajaros, Q. Roo, MX.
It was a great trip! A flats fishermans dream. Mangrove tunnels and back lakes to open water flats and river mouths. We caught lots of Bones, a few Tarpon, and there were lots of Permit to frustrate us. I had 24 shots on the fly but sadly couldn't land one. No grand slam for me, but the 12 year old with us got his "Slam" and the 11 year old got the "Super Slam" with a snookie to boot! I never mind being upstaged and out fished by kids! Unfortunately (or fortunately) I now have the Permit bug and will have to go back.

| Nice pics. Those are some big permit. I have been to Punta Allen several times with similar results. I think Punta Allen is near your destination? |

exactly. Punta Allen is on the north end of Ascention Bay and Casa Blanca the South. Think Ingleside vs Flour Bluff. We were at Playa Blanca which was several miles down the island and fished mainly Espiritu Santu Bay which would be about like Baffin on a comparative map.
