I was called an offered the posisition for head Maint. Mgr. at the new Bass Pro going up somewhere in North Austin. Either it's going up or it's already up. I haven't quite been myself after that. God did I hate to turn that offer down, just no way at this time. He assured me that he would keep calling. Too bad there's not one here in Corpus........

Somebody kick me!!!!!! Very Happy

Don't say that to Debbie.... She already broadsided me with all 16 inch guns going off at once. Theres no way to sell 2 houses and move in that short of time. I'll put in a good word for the red hunter . Very Happy

Just move and sell the houses afterward. But, the fishing will take a real hit.

And fishing is one reason why I can't leave... It's sure isn't where I work holding me back.

The store will be in Round Rock, not Austin, which is a real blessing. Round Rock does not have many of the problems that Austin has. It is scheduled to open sometime in 2015 and will be on the north side of Round Rock. Tracker Marine is moving from Austin to open next door to Bass Pro.

Who could/would turn down a chance to be in management in one of the worlds best toy stores?? BamaRed might go into shock though - what with Alabama football doing below average and then IMS moving!!!

I was going to say either two rentals or one rental and a weekend house. The shop will nicely house the boat while you are in Round Rock, which traffic wise is light years better. I'd sooner shoot myself than deal with Austin's traffic on a daily basis.

Just think of all the lures you will get to "check out" to make sure they work properly. Maybe you can get a endorsement contract started "IMS Tested and Approved Lure". Then you can branch out into rods, reels, depth finders. Heck, you may become bigger than Ted Williams was on endorsements (Hard to beat Ted W for baseball playing, but for trucha catching - no contest).

I heard the fish in the backyard were taking up a collection to help you move. Probably wouldn't hurt to run a weekends worth of fresh water through the motor occasionally too.

BTW, there is some pretty good white bass and hybrid fishing in the Austin area. Different fish - skills mostly the same.

Sounds like the decisions done been made. Coulda told you that when grandma's and grandbabies were mentioned. Divorce just ain't worth it at our age. Say so long to the regular salt water fishing.
