According to the hatch survey it looks to be a good season. Everything is up for our area except Pins.

The survey can be found at the Du web site.

Yes...Both the DU and the Delta reports look good for this coming season.

I would imagine that the Pintails and the Teal will show up in better numbers than last season.

Hunting Arkansas can be great. The later the better and try to catch the opening of a split.

Do y'all typically get teal in for the early break right there in the bays? Or do they typically just stick with the rice fields?

The only Teal shooting I have done down here was last year. It was all over fields. I have seen Teal early on the ULM but they are there and gone.

Went scouting all weekend long and saw what looked to be a small flock of teal. I think I got my honey hole for the season and early teal. Just need some birds. Saw a pintail mixed with a mallard. Awsome looking duck. I got a few pics of it!

Mallard/pintail cross drake is #1 on my hit list. Followed closely by a fully plumed drake pintail with a band.

I have never killed a pallard either. About 10-12 years ago i emptied my SP10 on one that was about 20 yards out hovering over the decoys. Three clean misses under the duck. I thought my dog was going to bite me....

Check out wild wings avian artistry web site. He does a lot of cross's and unusual stuff like that. He wins a lot of awards too.

Laughing

I'm pretty sure my dog is learning how to roll her eyes and sigh.

Hell I got a few pics to prove it. Crap pics from my phone but you can make it out for sure! Body of a mallard with orange feet and with a long head that's brown and blue beak. I'll email it to you if you don't believe me☺

I'm just wondering why it's down in August. Did you see it fly? Maybe it got winged last season.

I am pretty sure there are resident populations for both Pins and Mallards in the area.
