Well my vacation is officially over but i couldn't have asked for a better weather window for the week. Capped it off with one more off shore trip yesterday. Conditions were just too good gulf was flat like a lake, huge pods of mullet and menhaden every where out to nine miles . Only did a half day trolling and drifting , no kings and all snapper were small if it wasn't for the thirty pounds of shrimp i traded for beer the day would have been a bust. Stiill a beautiful day on the gulf just can't be beat, as for the shrimp ( and fish ) I'm right there with IMS I like um fried......can't wait to go again Very Happy

We're heading to Destin in a week and a half for a 2 week stay: can't freaking wait!!! What has me a little tense is that the fishing conditions have been mostly great (light to calm winds, good water) for a few weeks now. I just hope there's some of that left for us! Very Happy

I really have a problem with people who are cheerful about their upcoming time off from WORK to go and recreate in idealistic settings.

Thanks! The clincher is, quality time WITHOUT the family!!!! Shocked

The two weeks down in Vero Beach in May was spent with my older sis, BIL and we also took my mom. The latter was a mistake, and I knew that I was gonna be stressed out the whole time, and I was! Embarassed

Still, my younger sis took my dad and her down by plane last year, and dad has Alzheimer's. She did her one time daughterly duty, now I've done mine. I love my mom to pieces, but her nervous habits drive me to drink, LITERALLY!

My wife and I have a great relationship: she does what she wants to do, and I FISH! She's fine with that and so am I, so we are both happy campers! Cool

THEN, it's back to work...... But bow season opens September 27th.........
