|
|
Went to East Matagorda bay last week and had the heaviest 10 trout stringer ever. All 10 trout were over 20". Thought I would have to deal with the negative remarks at cleaning table since we used croakers but maybe it's becoming more acceptable in east bay. I stayed in same spot on a drop off between two reefs and waited them out. Fish were in the deepest spot I could get to. I'm 5'10 and had jelly fish stings on my neck!!! Even had a small one go into my shirt sleeve and when I raised my arm to cast it must have went into my shirt. My stomach was blistered. Funny how it did not hurt until the fishing was over. Going to have to make the drive and learn East Matagorda it was much better than Sea Drift area has been last four weeks _________________ Take a kid fishing, best investment for them and our future of fishing. |

Yeah, piss on 'em!
That would be darn interesting to watch in neck deep water, and it only helps if you get on it quickly, as in right after you get stung.
Congrats on the trout though, what a haul!!! I would have to tell those belittling anyone for using live bait/croaker to stick it where the sun don't shine! I'm all about giving the fish what they want....... Because I darn sure do like to eat fish! _________________ Dave

I'll have to take a stringer picture next time. I just don't like pictures of the fish when they have been on ice _________________ Take a kid fishing, best investment for them and our future of fishing. |

X2 if I've iced them I normally won't take any pics. They lose a lot of color and just look ...... Well stiff and frozen hahah. _________________ It's not the destination, the journey is everything. |
