Anybody out there have any old fillet knife sheaths you don't want or will sell really cheap, I need some 6" ones because I just got a couple used fillet knives at the flea market and they need to be sheathed. I think that's how it's spelled. Nothing fancy, I'm talking plastic or the like.
Anyway, let me know and I'll come pick it/them up.
Please PM me

Fish Lady, For some reason that seems to be the case when I find a good fillet knife somewhere... no sheath. I made my own from a paper towel tube and duct tape..... this will work until u can find a "proper" sheath....

Thank you Bobby, I appreciate your post. I just figured there would be more sheaths out there than knives because it is sooo easy to have a knife splash in the 'drink' or just get rusty/old or whatever. I figure the knife would go before the sheath in any case and there would be more of them out there. But, since this is a 'throw away' society,......

FishLady, for a good knife guard, I would check out Mission Restaurant Supply at 1737 N Padre Island Dr. I found myself in the same situation when I picked Dexter fiilet knife w/o a sheath. This is the one i got, for just a over 2 bucks, its a good deal.

I currently have 6 knives with no sheath. I always crack the plastic ones or cut the leather/fabric ones.

I've taken to folding a piece of duct tape down the edge. Embarassed

heat gun + PVC, make your own sheath. won't be a perfect snug fit, but probably better than cardboard.

Dog rawhide (the white one) soaked in water I'll soften and just wrap around your your knife. They last a long time till the dog gets ahold of it.

I have a "silly" one that I make using a cut off piece of old swimming pool noodle and if you want to make it a little more durable, wrap it with duct tape.
That will be 50 cents forwardable(is there such a word?) to my Amazon account which is currently being hacked by folks in Bengladesh!
