Hey y'all! I'm back! I've had a lot of "where are you" texts lately. I can't even leave for a week or two without the concern haha.

Just a quick note. DFW anglers, thanks! Yall are a really awesome crew and I appreciate all the invites! I'll be back soon and will fish with all of yall eventually!

So my adventure started at the beginning of April. Winds were REALLY killer but fishing just had to be done.

I explored around the OSO for the first time and found reds on reds just busting up glass minnows but they were having none of what I had to offer. We ended the night spooking well over 20 reds and landing one blackdrum.

Stayed up until about 5AM when we hit the laguna for some trout action. The bite was HOT HOT HOT! I had a limit of trout on a liveglow pearl rip-n-slash by 8AM.



The next day I left for Dallas. The plan was to spend some time with my gal and hit the lakes while she studied.

I posted up looking for some company or info on where to fish and my message box exploded.

Roger was the first to get a hold of me so the next day I loaded up and hit coopers lake! Hybrids were the name of the game! The north wind was still blowing pretty hard so we killed time chasing after crappie. Roger threw a few plastics my way and it wasnt long until I had my first crappie ever at 13"!

The lake calmed down in the afternoon so we started to troll around looking for schools. They never schooled up but we did manage some singles.



I ended the day with 5 sandies, 5 hybrid, 1 blue cat, and 1 crappie. The biggest hybrid was around 23".




I spent some time taking care of assignments for class. The next week I had a trip planned to hit ray roberts. Thanks to the simplicity of the dallas highway system I found myself at Purtis Creek around 8AM.

Nothing else can clear a recent episode of road rage like a nice lake sunrise.

I managed a couple of bass early tossing around a silver h20 rattle trap. I had a nice 24" bass come off my hawgtrough before I could snatch a picture. The rest of the day involved the fishgrips.



No other monsters were caught but it was a great morning with around 7 bass, 1 channel cat, and 2 sandies.

Pelican, it was great to meet you on the water! Ill have to shoot you a message when I'm back in town.

I finally got back to the salt this week. We kept our eye on the weather window that was forming for today (saturday) and put together a nice little BTB crew.



It was a bit chilly (really chilly) in the AM so we let the sun rise a bit before launch.



Going through the surf was pretty easy although I got into my bad habit of catching the breakers in the chest. The surf wasnt too bad but the rollers..geezz.....it was a solid 2'-3' out past the surf with the occasional 3.5'rogue breaking on you.

I was the last one to launch so Tod slowed down to let me catch up. Good karma hit it right away with his first king from the kayak.



We finally made it to the rig and started to set up sabikis. There was a short break for a MP rig baptism. The fishing was really slow. Glenn eventually got in on the fun with a Jack.



Around noon we decided that it wasn't worth getting beat up this much so we started back in. About half way back I hear Ben yelling at me. A nice shark wanted a piece of his live bait.



We all got back to the beach without any other excitement. There have been a great couple of fishing trips this month. I'm ready to get back on the laguna and chase some trout around.
