Hello everyone,
We just moved to Corpus approximately 6 months ago and my boys and I have fallen in love with wade fishing. We read an older article in the paper about the top wade fishing spots in the area and we have tried several of them. If anyone would be willing to share their favorite spots we would certainly appreciate it! It is so fun watching the boys explore new areas and trying to catch fish rather than play video games.
Thank you very much! |

67 views and no replies. Come on guys no need for people's secret spots but a little help to get this guy and his boys out after some fish. I've been having a Damn hard time trying to locate consistent fish this winter from wade only spots however fish pass and dead man's should be producing on sunny days when it's been warmer for wade fishing. Both spots have 1-4 foot flats with close access to deep water. Good luck out there and welcome to the forum. _________________ It's not the destination, the journey is everything. |

First welcome to the site. I'm from Conroe Texas north of Houston and don't get down much any more and when I do get down I fish the surf. So I can't give much info on the wading spots. The only place I've waded is there off SPID at the intercoastal at the bridge.
Good luck to you and the boys. |

Welcome, sawreds. Any where along Laguna Shores road is good. Easier to enter water at end of Caribbean.
Also anywhere around Dimmit pier.
Good luck! |

There's plenty of great spots in Corpus listed on the homepage. This time of year pay good attention to the fronts; wait 2-3 days after a front to go fishing and pick a spot near a deep basin by one of those walk in spots and you'll definitely will have some good action...especially when water temperatures are below 60 degrees you'll really need to get close to some ICW or whatnot for a productive day. I don't own a boat and walk in wade and kayak from time to time; however I'd rather just go on a walk in wade.
Here's a few more good sources...

| I might be able to help a little but I have three questions first. 1. How old are the boys? 2. What vehicle do you drive? (4x4 gets in more wade spots) 3. How tall are you? (most fisherman drown in my wade spots, lol.) |

I've seen pictures of a wader being rescued from that area because of the soft bottom. I'm sure it's doable and I'll probably give it a go when we get our warm temps back but don't get in a rush. |
