Has anyone gone out with a South Padre Island bay guide they recommend, if so, who was it ? Will be there with the spouse for our anniversary Mar 22-25. Thought about pulling my boat down but don't really know any waters confidently south of Mansfield.

Fred & Janie Petty, of Fishing with the Petty's Guide Service. They've been fishing the waters down there when Jim's Pier was about the only Marina in town. Good people.

I went to their website, it's amazing how much cheaper the guides are down there compared to the Corpus guides. If there website is up to date they charge 200.00 for one person and 300.00 for 2 !!! Most of the other guides I googled were similar like 350.00 for 3 people, around Corpus they charge like 600.00. I wonder what the deal is ? Maybe they don't run as far?
