Fall and early winter are some of the best times to be on the island, in my opinion. In the fall the summer tourists are gone and the winter Texans haven't arrived yet. In the winter, well... we can deal with the winter Texans - and we get a lot of really pleasant weather days in between fronts.

Haven't done much fishing lately... but have taken a few pictures from around the island. So for those of you that can't be here, here's a few to live vicariously through:

Port A Marina at Sundown

Padre Island Brush Fire

Full Moon Behind the Polly Anna

Full Moon Rising at Bob Hall Pier

Green-winged teal

Tricolored Heron at Sunset

Northern Harris Hawk Over the Marsh

Flying Low

Seagull Sunset

Thanks! I use primarily a Nikon D300S. The lenses vary depending on the shot... most of the wildlife is shot manual focus with a 150-500 Tokina (makes tracking birds a lot of fun haha). Most of the landscapes are done with a superwide 11-16mm.

Beautiful pictures. If you ever decide to sell prints or calendars with your pictures on them, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be the only corpusfishing member in line to buy some Very Happy

Thanks. I do prints (along with a few other mediums - canvas, aluminum and wood). I've explored calendar options a little bit but haven't come up with a solution yet that I've been happy with as far as quality and price. :/

Chris - Thanks! The website is the bane of my existence... I can't figure out how I want it organized (pics from so many places) so right now it's just a mess. Facebook shows most of my current stuff until I can get the website organization figured out. (http://fb.com/JBMVphotography)
