|
|
Hit my cold weather spot this morning at about 9am. The conditions were perfect with the temps being as low as they've been in a while and the wind still blowing.
I started throwing a clear shrimp tail and was nailing the trout right away. Many were just under the limit and a few right at 15' which I returned to the water. I switched to a cocahoe minnow and bam, landed a nice trout just uner 20". After that the bite slowed so I started my quest for Reds. They were stacked up and I had a limit of fat ones in no time. I also caught a smooth puffer, an ugly sucker that I had never caught before.
While I was fishing for Trout a small Buck came over the hill really close and was watching me fish for a while, then he took off and ran straight into the water, all the way up to his neck. I didn't see him with anything when he got out and it was the first time that I've ever seen anything like that!
Nice morning fishing today.

I have great video of a deer swimming in the back yard. We followed him for a while as it was hunting season and we had a tag. We let him go on his way after shooting the footage. Was the first time I had seen that. GW said they swim back and forth from the mainland to the island. _________________

Nice report...I caught one of those puffers this past weekend in Nueces. My wife called right after I caught it so I sent her the pic...definitely an interesting fish and they can tear a gulp in half pretty quickly. _________________ Fish On! |

Yea, there very strong. This one was flipping around something fierce and it was hard getting him off the hook. |
