Ive know Albert for a little over a year. About the most respectable, honest, hardworking, and dedicated fishermen ive met. I dont know of anyone else who has done as much as he and his team have to help shark research and conservation of sharks. I know in my heart that there is absolutely no way that man cheated during the event. Ive never liked lie detector tests, and never will. I know they have their place, but theres too much chance of operator error and other variables that can cause a false reading. Albert said hes going to fight this, and I hope the people running the event realize they did wrong.

you don't get out much, do you?

Wanna explain that stupid post mam? Im out all the time, just bc I dont post about every single day on this board, dont think im not out.

Are you suggesting sharkathon award prizes to people that fail lie detector? What are the chances for an inaccurate test? What are the other variables that produce false readings? The people that hate lie detectors are usually the ones scared of getting exposed. Winners are subject to polygraph. If they fail dont blame the staff or the person giving test.

I just hope the truth comes out. I feel for the Sharkathon Staff, sure gives the tourney a little bit of a black eye. Unfortunately when this much money is on the line, there will be people doing whatever they can to win it (legally or illegally).

As an honest person, I would STILL be terrified to take a damn polygraph with $18K+prizes on the line.

Note to self - video camera next year...

Someone posted on another forum that he was disqualified from a sharkathon tournament a few years ago. Does anyone know if this is true?

And the saga continues... FIRST OFF, IF U FAIL A LIE DETECTOR TEST, THAT'S AN ABSOLUTE 100% DISQUALIFICATION COME RAIN, SLEET, SNOW OR RAIN. READ THE RULES....If you want to whine & cry about who did this and who did that then u need to go pick up golf or somethin. How bout you just GO FISHIN & stop gossiping and acting like a bunch of school girls. Damnnnnnnnn, how come this is the only board that has so much drama.

It's a very simple 3 part activity.

1.) GO OUT FISHIN

2.). CATCH SOME FISH

3.). POST UP A REPORT

THAT'S ALL THIS BOARD SHOULD BE FOR.

Yes. To be precise, he attempted to turn in a picture of a shark from a cell phone. Anyone that enters, and has actually read all the rules knows darn good and well that there is a 5MP minimum of cameras, and it must have a removable card......in addition, you're supposed to have the three pictures of the measurements....

To their credit, at the time, Sharkathon judges DID consider, VERY briefly, allowing the entry (by even looking at the phone) but due to the poor quality of the picture, there was no way to verify how long the shark actually was. In the end, they didn't accept the entry because of the basic simple fact: he didn't follow the rules.....so DQ'd...

Feel free to contact either sharkathon or the man himself and verify this if you doubt this......

Forgive my ignorance but I thought you had to have some sort of specific item in the picture or that years current measuring stick? How does one cheat with those rules in place?
Different angler in the camp catching the fish?

Thank you for clearing that up becky. It was not cheating but a rules violation.

Lol . I was just responding to the " And the saga continues ...." post. If there was no drama or controversy this post would not be interesting.

'bout 5 decades ago most folks had a telephone in the house...
most were on "party lines"(look it up if ya don't know)...
most folks lived in smallish communities...
the "mature" ladies found that information could be had by quietly picking up the receiver and grazing on conversations....
then they'd call "so and so" and spread a little info....
like gasoline on a dry brush pile, things quickly went blazing up....
this outfit is just a latter day party line... Laughing
