Re-researching things and was wondering what the experts here use to:

Minimize condensation in their fuel.

Stabilize fuel for winter months.

Overall performance.

I do the best I can to keep non-ethanol fuel in the tank.

Cheers!

MARINE STABIL................and seafoam. Marine stabil stops or helps in stopping of phase separation which occurs with the crappy fuel we get. Also a dark tank helps because sunlight is bad for the ethanol fuels. I'm just putting this down off the top of my head from what I have read. I have also used ...I think its called Starbrite it is also good. Phase separation key word......bad stuff.

I've been using marine stabil also for about 5 years and have never had a problem. But then again I try to run my boat often enough to keep fresh fuel in there.

i used to work small engines(15 years), and own a couple drag cars and a drag bike. i absolutely HATE stabil. I have had nothing but problems with it no matter the engine or application. when you dont use things for more then a couple months gas starts going bad, especially 2 stroke, and starts to seperate and varnish. with all the ethanol in the gas now a days sometimes it faster then that. i would put seafoam up against anything on the market (except BG) and it will beat it 10 fold. thats just my opinion, i had to pay almost $2000 for new injectors and carb kits to fix what stabil says it prevents. and again thats after not running for more then 3-4 months, during the winter in colorado.

Sea Foam all Damnnnnnnnn day !!! I run in it in everything from my Honda Air motor on my flounder boat, outboard, trucks, all the way to my tractor out at the farm. This stuff will bring your old beat up sounding engine to a smooth quiet purrrrr in the 1st treatment.

Actually the Starbrite stuff is called "Startron Enzyme Treatment", and it works differently that the Stabil. The stabil helps with the gasoline phase separation problems, but the enzymes in the Startron enzyme treatment actually combine with the alcohol and prevent it from separating out of the gasoline or absorbing water from the atmosphere. The Startron also reduces the rubber dissolving proclivities of alcohol so you hoses and rubber parts don't produce as much dissolved gunk. I strongly recommend an inline fuel filter just before the carburetor in all engines today.

It's best to use both the Stabil and Startron for maximum protection.

I have also used Sea Foam many times, but it is really more of a carburetor, injector, valve, ring, and general fuel system cleaner that it is a stabilizer. It will definitely clean your system which makes it run better, but it does not do as much for the gasoline as the Stabil and Startron.

Isn't marine stabil a stronger concentration of red stabil?

I run stabil all the time and once a year give all my engines a thorough dosing of sea foam.

Sea foam really does good when you take out spark plugs and soak cylinders and also soak carb. Let it sit over night, dry start (no plugs) a few times then run engine. It will create a smoke screen that will rid all Mosquitos around house and clean things up inside motor real nice.

People are getting these two products mixed up from what I have seen.

Seafoam is a CLEANER/DE-CARB type product

Stabil/Startron is a ethanol treatment.

I use ring-free from yamaha and Stabil Marine at every fill up. I use seafoam once a month to keep the carbs and reed assembly happy. I think the best thing you can do for your outboard is to RUN IT. A idle engine, is not a happy engine. Put some heat in it.
