My GF and I both took a vacation day Friday to go attempt to go fish hunting Very Happy It was rainy and nasty as all get out when we arrived in CC, but it was scheduled to clear up so we were determined to give it a whirl! Drove out to Packery channel to catch a few mullet and check things out. Got there mid-morning right after the rain and there wasn't a single soul on the North jetty! Imediately saw mullet w' something occasionally busting them up. Rigged up my GF to catch perch or whatever else wanted to eat lil' pieces of shrimp. Plenty of Pinfish & Piggies, with the occassional lil' Croaker, kept all them for trotline bait on a later date. I got in on the action for awhile and then started throwing the casnet. Netted up some mullet and put one rod out with mullet, while I was throwing the net my girlfriend started hollering at me that she had something big, I look at the rod from a ways away and figure that she's hung up. I start walking over towards her and i can hear the line peeling off my lil' Penn 430 SSG. She needed a lil' help getting him in, but after a couple minutes we had her Redfish in the net! He taped out at 26-3/8" long and after a couple pics he was thrown on the ice!! Very Happy

We fished about 30 more minutes and decided to go downtown to hunt for some Grovers. We fished long and hard downtown, but ended up with 6 Grovers with the smallest one kept taping out at 14" long and the largest one taping out at 16-1/2" long and a bonus Black Drum that taped out at 22" long. Not a bad day for not having a boat! Very Happy
Check out the piercing on this Grover!! OUCH!!! Shocked

Here's a pic of the fruits of our labor Very Happy

Here's a pic of the lil' piece of shrimp that Trish caught her 1st Redfish on, quarter is for size refference and wasn't part of the fish's dinner lol!!

Red was caught on shrimp, Grovers & the Drum were caught on finger mullet. Untill next time, Tight Lines Guys & Gals!!! Very Happy

Nice report and good size mangroves. If she was not hooked on fishing before, she is now after that catch.
