I took my dad and son Bryan out for some pompano fishing before it got too windy. We did pretty good in 2:45 minutes.

There was a bit more weed but no problem. The finger mullet came and went along with lots of dusky anchovies. We were after pompano so we left the finger mullet alone. We ended up with quite a few hardheads, a few whiting and five pomps. The biggest went between 3 and 4 pounds.

Nice fish!
What's the secret to catching them? I've used small hooks, little bit of fish bites, and or some small piece of shrimp. I caught my first one the other week, foul hooked

That is a BIG pomp. I was a little closer to the bowl than you were. I got there around 4 and stayed till dark. Mullet only got big skippies and big hardheads for me. I did not have any shrimp but I did manage a couple of whiting and one keeper pomp on pink fishbites.

We were at the beginning of the bowl last night and got four pomps between three of us.
