Here is a David Sikes' article from 2009 which has a map showing most of the PINS boundaries :

Ya know what becky, I really didn't pay any attention to BIB, I know the main gate is closed down and figured no one was using the ramps. An assumption on my part. Sad I'm going back that way on Thursday, I'll check it out then.

I fished just barely north of Bird Island Basin today...back in Nighthawk Bay area...no Park Rangers or anyone else there to check on or interfere with those of us who were there fishing. While I was there, several other boats with fishermen came and drifted through the area......

Sad thing was that the water there was murky. A week ago it was crystal clear. This time there was also a lot of dead sea grass floating on the surface.

Anybody know if the boundary ends AT the jetty or the channel? ie, are the jetty free to roam or considered park property?

I can't get the legal boundary description to post completely but it seems to indicate the southern boundary lies in the middle of the Port Mansfield Channel --

--- thence northerly along a line parallel to said survey line of J. S. Boyles and distant therefrom 1,500 feet west to a point on the centerline of the Port Mansfield Channel; ---

You can click on the small maps at the bottom of the page - and then zoom in - to see the PINS boundaries (though not very well ).

Hey becky, down there today, didn't see a soul at BIB, looked funny, "the ghost boat ramp". Sure is sad we can't use the things our tax dollars have paid for because it doesn't belong to us. ??????? Crying or Very sad

there is a big problem with the federal government thinking they own anything... they are merely the management service for what the citizens of the united states own. They technically work for us, but the system has been bastardized that we are servents of the government....

it's time for a change, and it's time to put the control back with the people.

But, sadly, I don't think most Americans think that way or even agree with that anymore. I don't see the feds relinquishing an ounce of power, ever. Most folks don't see the bastardized system, they see progress at the acceptable and unrepentant cost of liberty, morality and truth.

Liberally speaking, the constitution is an outdated document and it's relevancy to modern America is suspect at best, if not necessarily and utterly discarded. It is limitary in its ability to thrive especially when it is only considered as an abstract idea. Thus, its fundamental purpose no longer exists and America no longer exists within the framework of real freedom.

yeah, the current administrations political wrangling in order to get the American public to cry out at these closures so we will contact our representatives and put pressure on them to just "accept what the president is offering, pass it, and move on"....

along the Pelosi lines of "you have to pass the bill before you can read it first"

turd wranglers should be treated as such....
