With all the weed floating in, is anyone targeting these fish? Seems like we could if the conditions were right? I would love to take my kayak out and target these badboys and girls if the seas would cooperate. _________________ Paul S Perez

| saw about a 40 # bull sun but he was quick to leave, he left all of his little chicken dolphin friends behind,, we were about thirty mile south east of packery around the ant hills near a weed line. |

The weed line is closer than 30 miles I would think? These weed islands we've seen on post could bare fruit if fished. Just wondering if anyone targets these weed mats (islands). I wasn't talking about paddling 30 miles out for crying out loud. I'm talking about a 30 to 45 min. paddle. In 1-2 foot seas. I love adventure, but I'm not crazy.
I have a friend in Costa Rica and the weed is bad there too. _________________ Paul S Perez

It kind of sounds like the guys are saying, that no matter where the weed line is the dorados are going to be out in the deeper water than just a 45 min. paddle. _________________ Common sense is not COMMON |

I really don't know what depth of water is the cut off for these fish. I think it would be cool though to fish for them from a kayak. If they can do it in Hawaii why can't we? _________________ Paul S Perez

They were caught within sight of Packery last summer. I would not count on finding them but when the blue water is in close on PINS there sure could be some close. Sailfish have been caught off Mansfield and Port A jetties.

Hey, can't you make arrangements for them to be there when I visit? LOL!
My daughter will be attending school down there this fall and I'll have a reason to visit more often ! She's starting school with 12 college hours out of the way. Boy - I'm sure happy they have this dual en-rollement stuff available to her. 12 college hours for free at her high school. A & M Corpus is a nice campus. She loves to fish and can't wait to make Corpus her home.
I have 4.5 years left on my mortgage and can't wait to buy a home down there. _________________ Paul S Perez

| I have never seen any closer than about 8 miles. My neighbor really sacked them up this past weekend around some sargassum mats about 40 miles SE from Packery. Fresh ceviche and grilled dolphin filets are hard to beat..... |
